Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Tife mobile app (the "App") collects, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It covers Tife on iOS and Android.
1. Who we are
Tife is operated by:
Sinmisola B.V.
Boreasplantsoen 46, 6846 XM
The Netherlands
KvK: 87415305
BTW (VAT): NL864288104B02
Email: support@sinmisola.nl
Sinmisola B.V. is the data controller for the limited information described below. Questions, requests, or complaints about your data can be sent to the email above.
2. The short version
- Tife is offline-first. The game runs entirely on your device.
- We do not ask you to create an account, sign in, or share any personally identifiable information with us.
- We do not run analytics, crash reporting, advertising IDs, or cross-device tracking.
- The only data that ever leaves your device does so when you initiate it: a purchase (handled by Apple or Google), a restore (handled by Apple or Google with RevenueCat), or a support message (handled by Tally).
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising.
3. Data we store on your device
Tife stores game state on your device using react-native-mmkv. This data never leaves your device and is not backed up to our servers (because we do not operate any servers). You can delete it at any time by removing or reinstalling the App.
What we store on-device:
- Players you have added to your roster (display names only).
- Your selected theme, rules, and round progress.
- Game history for the current session, custom prompts you have written, prompts you have blacklisted, and saved "Moments" from previous turns.
- Your Hot Zone journal (your longest no-prompt rounds).
- Preferences: app language, dare-timer sound on/off, default Hot Zone soundtrack, and the dev-mode paywall toggle (in development builds only).
- A locally-generated anonymous user identifier created by the RevenueCat SDK on first launch, used to associate purchases with your install.
4. Data that may leave your device
A small amount of information leaves your device when you take a specific action. We list every case below.
4.1 Purchases (StoreKit / Google Play Billing)
When you tap to buy or restore a Tife Pro subscription, the purchase flow is handled by Apple App Store (StoreKit) or Google Play Billing. We never see your payment method, billing address, or full Apple ID / Google account email. Apple and Google share with us — through RevenueCat — only what is needed to confirm and manage your subscription:
- Your transaction or receipt identifier.
- The product purchased (
monthly, yearly, orlifetime). - Subscription status and expiration date.
- The store-issued anonymous account identifier (Apple's "appAccountToken" / Google's account hash).
Use of your data by Apple and Google is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (apple.com/legal/privacy) and Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
4.2 RevenueCat (subscription management)
We use RevenueCat, Inc. to verify subscriptions across stores and devices, and to render the in-app paywall and customer center. RevenueCat receives:
- The anonymous user identifier described in §3.
- The receipt / transaction details from Apple or Google.
- Your device's platform, OS version, app version, and country (used to localize prices on the paywall).
- Your IP address, used by RevenueCat to detect fraud and approximate country (not stored long-term and not shared with us in identifiable form).
RevenueCat acts as our processor for this data. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy and their data processing addendum is at revenuecat.com/dpa.
4.3 Tally (support form, optional)
If you tap Settings → Contact us the App opens a form hosted by Tally (tally.so) in your browser. We receive only what you choose to type in (your message, and optionally your email if you want a reply). The Tally form is the only way we receive identifiable contact information from you. Tally's privacy policy is at tally.so/help/gdpr.
You can also email us directly at support@sinmisola.nl instead of using the form.
4.4 Apple's default in-app rating prompt
If a future version of the App asks you to rate it on the App Store, that prompt is rendered by Apple — we never see whether you tapped, ignored, or rated.
5. Data we do not collect
For clarity, Tife does not collect any of the following:
- Your name, email, phone number, address, or government ID (unless you put one of these into the optional Tally support form).
- Your contacts, calendar, photos, microphone, or camera. The App does not request these permissions.
- Your precise or approximate location.
- Your advertising identifier (IDFA / GAID).
- Behavioral analytics, crash reports, performance telemetry, or any kind of usage tracking.
- The content of your prompts, players' names, or game history. These stay on your device.
6. Children
Tife is rated 17+ on the Apple App Store and Mature 17+ on Google Play, and is intended for adults. The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where 16 is the relevant threshold under the GDPR), and we do not knowingly collect any information from such children. If you believe a child has used the App and we hold any data attributable to them via RevenueCat or our support form, please contact us at support@sinmisola.nl and we will delete it.
7. Your rights under EU / UK law (GDPR & UAVG)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights regarding personal data we process:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Because almost all Tife data lives only on your device, the easiest way to exercise erasure is to delete the App. For data that has reached RevenueCat, Apple, Google, or Tally, contact us and we will route the request to the relevant processor.
We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
8. Legal bases for processing
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Operating the App on your device | Performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). |
| Processing purchases and restoring entitlements via RevenueCat / the stores | Performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). |
| Responding to support messages you send via Tally or email | Legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). |
| Detecting and preventing fraudulent purchases via RevenueCat | Legitimate interest in protecting our service and our users (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). |
9. International transfers
RevenueCat is based in the United States and Tally is based in Belgium with infrastructure in the EU and elsewhere. When data is transferred outside the EEA, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Apple and Google operate worldwide and apply their own approved transfer safeguards.
10. Retention
- On-device data lives until you delete the App or clear it from within the App.
- RevenueCat purchase records are retained for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward to support restores, audits, and tax records (typically up to 7 years to satisfy Dutch tax law).
- Tally form submissions are retained according to Tally's settings (currently kept until we resolve your inquiry, then archived for up to 12 months).
11. Security
We hold no servers and store no user passwords. Data leaving the device is transmitted to RevenueCat, Apple, Google, or Tally over HTTPS / TLS. RevenueCat is SOC 2 Type II certified.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where reasonable, surface the change inside the App. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
